Just a little note to let you all know how much I enjoy conversing with the readers on this site. I feel like we’ve developed such a rapport of creative and intelligent discourse here at The Snob (with a touch of snark) and the readers really make that work. Tuesday’s post on banning the burqa in France was proof that a conversation that could have easily devolved into a nightmare thread on another blog can end up being educational, provocative and interesting on all sides of the debate.
I love that we have this on The Snob. It is exactly what I always wanted — to show that there is more rattling around in our brains than materialism and the latest T-Pain lyrics, that we are all thoughtful people who are intellectually curious about the world around us. No thread demonstrates that more than the burqa one. Even those who disagreed with me made their points with facts and reasoning, not name calling or shaming.
I hope we can continue to have conversations like these in the future on this site. Ones that are poignant and others that are funny.
That said, I’m going to start a top comment of the week award. The top commenter will receive on of my infamous Black History themed comical greeting cards. To be eligible, I’ll need an email address to contact you with or you will have to be registered with the site. Anonymous quotes will not be eligible.
Thanks!

The Snob
