In this NOT shocking development, the birther case of a soldier charging that President Obama wasn’t HIS Commander-In-Chief because he was the son of Jor-El or something has been thrown out of court. Somehow the judge figured out that the case of Orly Taitz and the recalcitrant Army Captain was a steaming pile of gourmet whackadoodle manure.
U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land tossed out on Wednesday a complaint by an Army captain fighting deployment to Iraq by questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama.
Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national “birther” movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever again files in his court a similar “frivolous” lawsuit — a document that at one point the judge states that a middle school student could find irony in.
“(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States,” Land states in his order. “Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is ‘an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified imposter.’”
I’ve tried to humor these whackadoodles. I really have. I mean, they are kind of funny. Orly Taitz’s name sounds like a cartoon character from the 1950s. Even the term “birther” has a nice “moonies” quality to it. But the fact that they’re actually wasting the time of the already slow-as-hell judicial system is mind-numbing. The judge chastised Taitz, but she really needed something heavier, like a fine, for wasting everyone’s time with her trumped up bull plucky. Of course, this is her first time-wasting offense so the worst she got was a bitching session from the judge (that she deserved), but I doubt this will stop her or her ilk from continuing to search for the Holy Grail of fake birth certificates to prove the president really is a brother from another planet.
