The Chickens Came Home With A C-O-N-spiracy?!?!?!

Down thread of my “Obama’s Chickens Coming Home to Say They Have Nothing to Apologize For” post Carl Walker chimed in with this link, hinting at a possible C-O-N-spiracy in Rev. Wright’s gawd awful timing.

Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.

A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).

It also turns out that Reynolds – introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club “who organized” the event – is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter.

I’m not big on conspiracy theories of any kind. If anything this was probably a “one-woman” conspiracy where she may have seen a chance to stir the pot, but everyone from FOX News to the NAACP wanted to get a piece of Wright as any interview, speech or letter of correspondence would be a big coup.

I don’t know if Reynolds’ eagerness to help Wright stage a disastrous news conference with the national media was a way of trying to help Clinton – my queries to Reynolds by phone and e-mail weren’t returned yesterday – but it’s safe to say she didn’t see any conflict between promoting Wright and supporting Clinton.

And the timing could have worst. He could have popped his head up to pepper people with black “truthiness” just before the election in Pennsylvania. Of course he’s just in time to fuck shit up in Indiana and North Carolina. So, go nuts conspiracy hounds. But if you ask me, the culprit of all conspiracies is Ms. Scarlett in the living room with the candlestick.

    Wow, thanks for crediting me and for running with it, too. Pretty good for my first comment here (although I’ve been lurking for several weeks now). I feel kinda bad that I can’t find where I got it from anymore, though!I did want to add that, despite the “conspiracy” angle that I pushed in my original comment, I am inclined to agree with your “conspiracy of one” suggestion. The sad thing is that Wright had to have known he was being used, but willingly participated in it nonetheless! WTF.

I try to stay involved in the comments as I enjoy a good chat and the readers often have really good ideas on stories and content.So thanks for the clip!And I think Wright knows all too well what he is doing. She didn’t make him go to the Press Club and start Crip Walking up and down the Politics of Hope. Wright was home to roost and show out.

    Oh absolutely, he knows what he’s doing. It’s just… the Press Club? He coulda said what he said anywhere, is how I view it. And I figure the specific venue was her idea. Maybe I’m wrong.

    Will someone PLEASE tell him to go sit down! There is something about the camera that makes people drunk with stupidity. He knows he was being used, but wants to use this opportunity to cash in. I have long had the theory that blacks from the 60’s generation will always manifest their hate for the post civil rights generation eventually. I don’t know if it’s because they did not have the opportunities, or some level of self hate crab in a barrel nonsense. Whatever it is. Wright has become toxic to the Obama campaign. If this continues, I fear that it will doom him in November. Let’s be clear Wright is getting PAID somewhere in this. He is a willing party to it.

    I did an interview with Dr. Barbara Reynolds a few years ago on her radio show, Reynolds Wrap on XM Radio One and I am not surprised she supports Clinton but as well I don’t think their is any conspiracy here. Dr. Reynold’s is pro-Black and since Obama was not, I can see her appealing to Rev. Wright out of sheer intution to know something was not right. She is not a duplicitious person. She is upfront and does not hide. So she knew you would find out.I think people who are so Pro-Obama simply can’t understand how anyone who is Black is not empathetic to his specialness. Well Dr. Reynolds is tough and I liked her a lot. She has very good gut instincts like you, Black Snob.Just take it that she happens to be a Clinton supporter and that bids a look of her being in cahoots when quite simply I know for a fact that she would support Barack Obama if he was more concerned and showed solidarity with Black issues. If you look for the link of a conspiracy, you will find it because she is not hiding her support of Hilary. I would never, never, never doubt Barbara Reynolds in trying to hurt us or Barack. She is just not going to give Barack a pass. She is tough.

    On HuffingtonPost it states (cited info from Politico) that Dr. Barbara Reynolds pitched to have Rev. Wright two years prior but the Press Club did not bite then. So she has been friends with him for awhile. Besides being a Clinton supporter, she knew and seems to be a colleague and/or friend of Rev. Wright.

    Of course. Just check out the Press Club’s calendar. It’s the hottest thing because now there are competing conference centers. At my job we have press conferences in house but as well, since it is 2 blocks down from our front doors, we something use it. It is not however as hot as it used to be because more people utilize other facilities. I think the last time I was there was for Nader’s concession speech in 2000, that night.Like most Blacks utilize Howard University’s Blackburn Center, the Law School, their auditorium, or the Chapel. Oh…but it is also about having things offered to you and if they, The Press Club, needed a bit of cred in which they just got, I could see why the dated Press Club bit.

    Haven’t listened to it yet, but there seems to be a followup, Reynolds Claims No Ulterior Motive in Wright InviteThen why did her Anti-Obama criticisms that Errol Louis mentions in his column suddenly ‘ disappear’ from her website?Riddle me that. It was a SETUP.
