Palin reminds me of one of my favorite books, “Being There,” turned into a great movie starring Peter Sellers. In case no one remembers it, it’s about this mentally challenged guy who inexplicably gets thrown upon the national stage and whenever he says something idiotic, people think he’s being profound and erudite. He’s fortunately dressed in a professional suit and hat, so people also assume that he’s rich and well-connected. Anyway, the moral of the story is that people are easily fooled by outer appearances, and they are the real imbeciles.
