SAY IT TO HER FACE, Les Bitches! You All Failed, Not Just the ‘Alaska Disasta’

The Black Snob’s one (and only) defense of Gov. Sarah Palin. Governor, you’re welcome in advance.

Palin was apparently a nightmare for her campaign staff to deal with. She refused preparation help for her interview with Katie Couric and then blamed her staff, specifically Nicole Wallace, when the interview was panned as a disaster. After the Couric interview, Fox News reported, Palin turned nasty with her staff and began to accuse them of mishandling her. Palin would view press clippings of herself in the morning and throw “tantrums” over the negative coverage. There were times when she would be so nasty and angry that her staff was reduced to tears. (From the notes of FOX News Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron, Huffington Post)

Stop, anonymous McCain heads and Monday morning quarterbacking Republican pundits.

Just. Stop.

You know what I’m talking about.

Stop bashing Miss Wasilla, Sarah Palin, aka “Caribou Barbie.” Yeah, yeah. During the election we all had our fun and our Tina Fey impressions and our “I can see Russia from my house” joke variations. All that was great. But to listen to the “anonymous” Round Robin of McCain insiders who say everything from she didn’t know Africa from country or contintent to she couldn’t name the members of North American Trade Agreement to that she used her status to become a “Wasilla hillbilly looting Nieman Marcuses from coast to coast” is … how can I but this? In really, really, really poor taste. Harping constantly about how she pushed to speak on concession night andrefused to cram the night before her “big exam” with Kaite Couric says to me you are throwing poo because you want no one to look at you.

Some of the leaks are just catty. Like telling the press she once answered her hotel door in a towel and wet hair, also in a towel. What the hell does that have to do with her being a nightmare candidate? What is that supposed to imply? That she’s immoral because she answered a door in a towl? That she’s undignified? Wasn’t that 90 percent of her appeal for the base? The fact that she was … ahem … “real?”

This “Sarah Palin was an ignorant, ungrateful $2,500 borrow suit coat wearing bitch” attack meme is not working on me. Even with a GOP lawyer dispatched to the frozen tundra to take back that expensive packaging and window dressing called designer suits and shoes.

You do realize, Anonymous McCain staffers when you point a finger three more point back at you? That in doing this you are further more soldifying the fact that it was, as John McCain said in his concession speech, his own failings which brought about the loss. One of those failings was Sarah Palin, a women he’d only met twice before offering her the job. It was he who picked this Nieman Marcus grifting Hillbilly who allegedly didn’t know diddly about squat. “Country First” was the slogan. Who’s country came first when McCain picked the alleged ignoramous, one we were repeated told was the future of the Republican Party the past two months?

These same staffers protected, defended and lied for her when the left pointed out and mocked her flaws. But when the loss hit and hit hard instead of looking within and finding their own mistakes, they’ve gone feral, launching the malicious, sexist attacks many accused lefties of once pulling. You have chosen this instead of going “maybe we could have responded faster to the financial crisis? Maybe ‘suspending’ the campaign looked like grandstanding? Maybe we did a poor job of explaining ‘why McCain’ while shouting ‘Nobama?’ Maybe we had no coherent strategy? Maybe we never knew or understood how to handle the race issue or Obama’s rock star status — other than bitch about him being a ‘celebrity?’ Maybe we ran McCain’s campaign into the ground? Maybe he ran his campaign into the ground? The man wouldn’t even work on weekends. Maybe it was because all we had were stunts and tactics but no real transformative ideas? Maybe Obama’s digital and we’re analog? Maybe Obama’s a Mac and we’re a PC? Maybe we suck?”

And if they’d ask themseves these questions they would know the truth.

You’re a bunch of sour losing sons-of-bitches who, rather than be introspective and use this time to figure out where the hell you went wrong, chose to blame the bitch, the oldest routine in the book. You’ve already branded Palin with a scarlet letter “C” for campaign wrecker when — j’ accuse! — It was you, all of you, McCain from the top down, complicit in this catagory five failure of temperment and judgment. The people wanted change. You couldn’t offer it so you simply ripped off the word and started calling yourselves “the Original Mavericks.” You went narrow when you should have made a play for the center. You picked up lame attacks that made little to no dent once the defening sound of the housing crisis imploding and Wall Street crashing came down.

Palin may have gone off script, been opportunistic, been a dim bulb, but it was the McCain campaign who was paraded her around like their new prize pony. Who sprung her from obscurity to infamy. Then you get mad because the prize pony is a “maverick” and just does “whatever.” She doesn’t read things. She’s out for self. As I said before. If I was the lummox, I would be too. As repellent as I found her views, she was being used by the McCain campaign to ignite a recalcitrant base, and they got that.

They just lost everyone else.

That’s how gambling works, McCain and anonymous McCain staffers. When you throw the die and it comes up snake eyes you don’t curse the dice. You gave fate a roll and she bum-rolled you, Rick-rolled you, sushi rolled you. As The Stranger said in The Big Lebowski, “Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, he eats you.”

The “bar” just fucking ate you because of your incompetence. Deal with it! Get therapy!

And McCain? To stand silent while your running mate’s legend as a moron increases is really classy, and I say “classy” as in not classy at all. It reveals your true character. Are you that compassionate, magnanimous loser from Tuesday night or are you the son of a bitch who can’t say, “Knock it off, people I hired! We lost! Sarah’s flawed, but the blame is shared and the bulk of it lies with me.” But instead we get … silence.

I thought she was was ready to be your vice president, Johnny Mac? I thoug
ht she was your “soul mate?” Yet there you are in the busted “Stray Talk Express” pretending to look the other way as your staffers hogtie her to the ground so you can accidently run her over a few times.

Yes, she’s cocky. Yes, she’s a know-nothing. But she was YOUR know-nothing. You picked the Alaska disasta.’ She was your one real chance to show your executive decision making ability and you came up craps. Well, tough titty, Senator. Stand up, stand behind, stand somewhere on your decisions. Admit that it’s not her, it was you. Even if you hate her. Even if you wouldn’t talk to her for most of those two months. Even though you both could read the writing on the wall. You wanted your pitbull in a skirt. You wanted this dinner of regret and crow, knowing now you will never be president, knowing you were destroyed by your own bad decisions on top of the failures of the Bush Administration and hundreds of other Republican politicians and operatives.

Invite your little bitter ones to your royal feast and tell them all to shut the hell up. While making Palin look bad, they are making themselves and their former boss look ever more the worse.

Personal responsibility shouldn’t just be a political catchphrase every four years. Learn it. Love it. Live it. Practice what you preached, Republicans. Show. Don’t tell.

HEAR HEAR, thank you for saying this. You voiced exactly what’s been on my mind since this nastiness started, but which i was afraid to say for lack of seeming pro-Palin (which god knows I am not). The attacks on her “conduct” in particular smack of the worst kind of sexism – “blame the bitch”, in your words. Every time I hear that effing towel story on the news I’m like “they are one step away from saying she banged the whole football team.” -Alex

  2. Well it goes to show what kind of operation was really going down. Hire a woman, treat like an employee (from all reports they really didn’t talk), then drop her the moment **it hits the fan.No it not right this is happening to Palin (I can’t believe I’m reading this post and actually agreeing Palin is getting too much attention and a bad wrap)but JM called himself when he said post-election quarterbacking would happen. I think Palin should either address these allegations or quite simply fly above the fray.

snob, thanks for calling bull**** on McCain and his anonymous advisers. i really didn’t care for Palin either but enough is enough.

  4. I agree with you 100%.They swooped into the cold abyss of Alaska, plucked up this tina fey look-a-like and then touted her around as their prize…only to have the shit hit the fan and her to be a complete moron. Well, she was always an idiot and they should’ve left her in Alaska to watch the Russians from her window and make snow angels instead of giving her a credit card and platform to spread her ridiculous views and lack of common political knowledge…With that being said, it was an awful reflection on the desperation of the Republican party and showed their lack of judgment.I am glad that they were unable to fool the majority of the country with their transparent act of togetherness. It’s hilarious to watch the McCain and Palin sides at odds now and to think that they had a chance at being in charge! This election wasn’t about being a loyal democrat or republican but taking a good look at the state of our economy and country as a whole and deciding who would lead us best – – and we spoke!I hope that Palin settles back into her life in Alaska and we never have to hear from her again 🙂

  5. I’m trying, Snob, I’m really trying to cry a few crocodiles tears for Palin, but they won’t come. Hold on, I’ll try some of these eyedrops…There, that worked. Look, the Repubs have shown that they’ll eat their own young if they’re hungry enough. And now when the chickens have come home to roost, I’ve noticed some people spinning it into a femnist argument. That’s fine, and if it’s gives you all some relief, that’s great. While I don’t hold grudges–at least I try not to–I still remember Palin’s vindictive remarks at the convention, her nasty quips, her false accusations, regardless of who put her up to it. She was a willing accomplice, a hired hitwoman for McCain and she came packing a lot of heat. I’m trying to be a good yogi in all of this and let karma run its course, without relishing the GOP’s implosion because that would be bad. Palin is Evita Peron in my eyes, standing on stage before her adoring throngs as her political career is suddenly cut short. I see her taking the mic on the balcony in her elegant, expensive dress and beautiful smile and singing, “Don’t cry for me, Argentina.” Palin, you were supposed to be immortal, that’s all they wanted, not much to ask for.

snob, love this post. LOVE IT. every word. but i have to admit, i have been enjoying the repub in house fighting. they are reaping what they sewed and we get to see it all from our living rooms. they (including sp) deserve every experience they’re having right now during this post-colonial, post-civil rights, post-election period. this country’s changing so let the repubs throw each other under their old rusty buses for all of us to see. just another lesson we can learn illustrating the lack of decency in the rebup party.you’re the best. liz

  7. Never leave your buddy behind is the first law of the military. Of course, as a ‘maverick’ McCain’s never been fond of laws. That’s why he went off partying after he set an aircraft carrier on fire instead staying behind to help sailors.

  8. Your stroke is magnificent in this one, Snob. Amen and amen.

  9. AMEN! And draven7, I hear you about not crying tears for Sarah Palin. Really, no one is. Trust me. Not one. We haven’t forgotten how gleefully she spewed trash over the last few months. What we’re crying foul at is how dirty the McCain campaign is acting by trying to scapegoat her. She may suck and be a moron, but she’s *their* moron. And now they’re acting like the MSM or some other evil boogeyman foist her upon them. It’s the way they’re completely ditching responsibility for having introduced the world to Bible Spice that we’re calling foul on, because it shows contempt for *us*, not her. And the tired way they’re trying to drag her down by spreading high school quality rumors that she was just a dumb bimbo is bogus. Most women have either been on the receiving end of those accusations or lived their lives trying hard not to be on the receiving end of those. And we’re not going to let that mess fly.We are furious that they tried to defend this cretin to us in a cretinous manner for months and then now think it’s ok to do a 180 and join the chorus of boos thinking we wouldn’t notice. We object to and are furious about the insult to *our* intelligence not hers.Hell to the naw!

I’m putting $50 on Bristol and the Redneck not getting married now. His family has probably packed their bags and moved away by now.I’ve noticed McCain hasn’t done anything to come out and defend Palin. Could he be hanging his head in shame or anger? Or popping some extra aspirins from the near heart attack he had when he let it sink in that he hadn’t won?Everyone pretty much agrees that Sarah was white trash dressed up in expensive glasses and nice suits. Once 12am struck Cinderella had to put on her Walmart threds and go back to her normal life.Everyone also agrees that her being an idiot AND being picked as VP doesn’t make her look bad, as much as it does McCain being so desperate to top Obama, by picking a woman to replace Hillary in voters starry eyes. Its clear why their doing this. They say she wants to run at the top of the ticket in 2012. They do not want girlfriend to even get close. But, what they fail to understand is, is that McCain pretty much ruined his chances of trying to run again too.I wish his old ass would……..

  11. Governor Palin was simply not qualified to be considered for the Vice Presidency. I can’t stand her AT ALL but as a feminist I am APPALLED at the treatment she was subjected to by her own party, the media and anyone else who degraded her for anything outside of her brain.

  12. I couldn’t agree more, but I saw this coming. WHO would resist the opportunity to through PALIN POWER under the bus, I wouldn’t. She sucks, but they suck more for picking her!

  13. Aw, hell, you broke it down so it would forever be broke! What kills me is that they didn’t anticipate her backstabbing… it seemsl that every job the woman ever got, she got from being cute, convincing old MEN she was in their corner, and then going in for the kill when she identified which job she was going to TAKE. Now granted, this is a tactic that men use all the time to get the jobs they want, for sure. But McCain and his staff were the dummies for not seeing that this was going to happen to them. So you’re right: It’s wrong for them to point fingers and blame her for what all went wrong. Sheesh–they picked her dumb ass. Now they get to wallow in the muck.Great post (as usual)!

  14. You are so right. I have had my fun reading about the latest wardrobe scandals etc., but you’re right, it is a guilty pleasure and one that I am not all that proud of. You’re making me realize who I am siding with I keep playing the “look what Caribou Barbie said this time” game – it’s all so last week anyway.Your blog has been awesome through the whole election. Thank you!

  15. Ok. So I’m not the only one wondering, “Didn’t y’all hire that broad?” in the face of all of this anonymous criticism. good.

  16. Damn! All this talk of Palin bashing has made greer start using the disturbing coochie on lock avatar again. Damn you “anonymous McCain staffers” and Sarah Palin for stirring up her feminist ire!

  17. And here I thought she would just go back home and get lost in the wilds of Alaska…

  18. ROFL @dkan71 I actually did it yesterday for the gaii marriage thing. My great, great, great grandmother should be showing up soon….

  19. Any one with a shred of common sense knows that Pallin was bought into this campaign to lure women voters, they just had no idea that it would backfire on them. Camp McCain actually thought that women were that dumb to vote for him just because of this woman. They employed every dirty trick that they had in their arsenal of lies, fear and deception. The Southern Strategy also failed, to me it became the Southern Tragedy. Sure McCain may have won many of the Southern United States, but it still wasn’t enough. A few hours after winning the Presidency, FAUX NEWS was still relentless in their own campaign against Obama. On the 6TH they then started releasing every bit of information that they knew about Pallin to the mindless viewers. They didn’t use any of this information during the campaign because they knew they would have lost many voters . They used every opportunity to bash Obama and all they did was to further help him win. FAUX NEWS is owned by NEWS CORP, GOOGLE them and make a conscious decision to never support the racist views of their leader, Rupert Murdoch. His political influence in our newspapers and television networks is “detrimental” to the advancement of political fairness. Murdoch has imparted his far-right agenda throughout his media empire. So if you want to boycott FOX, you’ve got a lot to boycott.

  20. Really good point, Divalocity. I wish liberals would stop watching Fox News to help bring down Murdoch’s expanding entertainment conglomerate. The man is a right-winger with way too much influence, and Dems should boycott the network to put on leash on him. I stopped watching Fox and O’Reilly long ago and I implore others to do the same. You hate everything that O’Reilly, Hannity and the crew represent, so why do you give financial support to them? Why do buy their books and watch these shows? Half of their audience is liberal. I know why you watch the shows–because you like lively discussions and excitement. But you must resist evil. Watch Olbermann or Maddow, anything but Fox. Stay from O’Reilly, don’t even look into his eyes or he’ll turned into one of his mindless zombies.

Don’t get me wrong – Palin was a disaster in waiting. And obviously Palin was used by the campaign. What Sarah Palin IS guilty of is that she allowed herself to be used. She didn’t have the understanding that moving to the Big Leagues was different than running for Mayor or even for Governor of an insulated, small population state. There are many people out there getting by with flash over substance – sizzle over steak. (Paris Hilton anyone?) Unfortunately, a run for President will examine, magnify and distort every possible flaw a person has and even those they don’t have … and Sarah either didn’t consider that or actually believed that she was qualified (I would bet on the latter). She had stars in her eyes. It’s sad to see what is now happening, but it is also so very predictable given how our society falls for the cult of “celebrity”.I once had a boss who told me that “perception is reality” as he “reworked” (ie: lied about) the unpopular profit projections to send to head office. Unfortunately, people like him believe that a good lie is better than the difficult truth.Who is ultimately responsible? WE ARE. We are a society that encourages hubris and overreaching. We egg them on to reach the top and then we gather with stones in our hands to knock them down when they get there.Sarah will be fine … she believes in her own PR. That’s the really frightening thing.

  22. This is why are the best Snob! Granted a Palin fan I will never be. I Thank God every chance I get she got no further than she did and pray she remains in Alaska and happily raises her kids and grandkids and stays out of the lower 48 and politics. She was a fish out of water and happily went along for the ride. The GOP is hanging her out to dry – so much for the values of not leaving a ‘man’ i.e. member of the team behind in battle and forgiveness. I suspect that if she in fact were a man (had she been selected which is unlikely), they would have closed ranks and moved on. V/rClarice

  23. Well, Dkan71, I get your point. Since I always knew Palin’s handlers were snake-oil salesmen, it’s no surprise to me that Palin is what most of us thought of her. She doesn’t know Africa’s continent? Yarn..What else is new? I wonder who actually believed she was qualified for the VP job anyway, despite McCain’s lip service which said she was. McCain’s campaign showed regularly that lying and deceit were a huge part of its tactics. Now that they’ve turned on Palin is also no big surprise. I see the same type of behavior on The Sopranos, and it’s usually hard for me to feel sympathy or assign fault to either side. All I can do is grab a bag of buttered popcorn and watch the bloodbath as I do with any good gangster movie.

They are just getting her back for grandstanding during the campaign. They’re trying to derail her attempt to throw her hat in the ring for 2012. I hope that they succeed because she’s pretty nasty and brand of “conservatism” encouraged a great deal of racism. I don’t want this person anywhere near the White House. How would she represent progress. -M

  26. @greer…whew…thanks…and thanks for having a sense of humor about the comment too.BTW..what’d we think of Brother Barack’s first press conference?Hey Snob, is it ok if we start posting topics during your hiatus?just asking.

  27. dkan71: I thought the press conference was a little awkward, but for the most part fine. I’m going to post a picture and a random topic a day for people just to mull over if they so desire. The picture will always, always, always be of Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey. Always.(Or I should say, there will always be a picture of Glitter and Chuckles up top and if there’s another picture I like I’ll place it after it.)The topic will be more relevant, but people can comment on either.

God, I detest Palin as much as the next person, but the McCain campaign really has to shoulder the responsibility for their own loss. Thinking the Hillary admirers would run to support Palin just because she’s a woman? How moronic can you be. I know hardcore I-Love-Hillary people who all recognized that another Republican in the White House would be a disaster. And this is my first time finding your blog, and it’s great!

  30. You are so right. They have to take the cod liver oil old skool and swallow!!

  31. Damn.Snob went IN. Lol.

  32. i remember when Phil Donahue went on The O’Reilly Factor and he told Bill that “Saddam was a bastard, BUT he was OUR bastard!” Same thing here. Palin was a monster, but she was the republicans monster, and now that they’re turning on her things are getting UGLY!

Snob, This is a very well written article, but I disagree with pretty much everything you said. Palin is now reaping all that she sowed while out on the campaign trail. To quote a Buddhist friend of mine – watch out for the causes you create, because the effects can be pretty darn nasty!Palin absolutely relished and reveled in her role as the attack dog for McCain. It was nothing less than frightening to see the rabid, openly racist crowds that flocked to hear their messiah Palin spew forth her lies, distortions and mischaracterizations of President-Elect Obama. No matter what horrible things were yelled out by her adoring fans, Palin simply stood on those stages with that cold, plastic smile of hers, never once offering a word of disagreement. Which to my way of thinking, must mean she agreed with what was being yelled out.Let us not forget this is the woman who claimed she didn’t blink when offered the VP spot. She jumped at the change to be in the national spotlight. So if that spotlight is now highlighting all her many flaws. Well, she gets absolutely no sympathy from me. Is it wrong for the McCain campaign to be placing all the blame for their failures on her? Perhaps. But this is the price one pays when you make a deal with the devil. He never plays fair. As a Christian woman, Palin should be very familiar with the passage from Matthew which says, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” It would seem to me, Palin is simply receiving back tenfold all that she gave out during her short time on the campaign trail.

  34. anonymous 7:32 a.m.: While it is totally true that Palin is a vile person, the Republicans are acting highly cowardly in not wanting to admit that Palin was only part of their failure and she was an obstacle they could have avoided had they vetted her. They didn’t. They got stuck with a nightmare and now they want to bitch and moan about the nightmare. I’m basically saying, suck it up. I don’t feel sorry for Palin. I just think they’re in deep denial if they think they can lay blame on everything on her.Per her getting her comeuppance, that is most certainly happening with her feeling the cold, cold shoulder of how the Republican establishment REALLY felt about her. To go from “I might be queen” to wearing jeans and sweats again is justice in itself. My main concern was that conservatives not wrap themselves up with this myth that Palin was the one who did it with Col. Mustard in the kitchen with a candlestick. McCain and his staff did it with Col. Mustard. Palin only helped by being a terrible, terrible running mate. There’s plenty of blame to go around. It’s a dick move (or bitch move) to go, it was the crazy lady’s fault when they wanted that crazy lady to be crazy. That’s all I’m saying. I’m not saying ANYTHING she did on the trail was justified. I can’t stand the woman!

  35. Son of a bitch…someone else is saying “tough titty” besides me!Anyway, this reaction to Palin isn’t surprising at all, considering the source. But because they’re all Republicans, all of this throwing-under-the-bus will be forgotten just in time for her keynote speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention. You know, it’s all nothing personal…just business. George W. Bush shredding of John McCain in 2000 didn’t stop them from celebrating birthdays together during Hurricane Katrina. And just look at how that close relationship paid off…

  36. so, NO SYMPATHY for Caribou Barbie.

  37. This is true, anonymous @ 7:32.

  38. Anonymous @11:09, you’re heartless and cruel, but amazingly fair, I must say.

  39. I guess that even dangerous idiots deserve their dignity, and if not, well I for one won’t be pulled beneath common human decency. I say the volumes are being spoken by those without any of either. Didn’t we just reject that kind of crap the other night? Didn’t we just fight really hard for a couple of years to be rid of it? It looks a little too much like bait for me to get anything out of it. There are those who would turn this misogyny right back on McCain and his crew and wonder why they were so quick to try sheilding themselves behind the girl when stuff started flying. Didn’t those right wingers mamas teach them any manners? -Doug in Oakland

  40. After just listening to Sarah P. get all victimy over the jerks and how mean-spirited and immature etc. they were for telling lies about her…I was like girrrl…as many lies as you told about your new BFF Barack you have more nerve than a mouth full of sick teeth trying to complain now. She has no idea how stupid she is and power to the Repubs for wanting to hitch their wagon to her. I’ll just continue to stand at a safe distance as they devour each other like vultures.Palin 2012!

  41. First off, nothing will ever take the glow off this for me. Not one single thing. I feel like my entire body is unclenching after being in a charlie horse for months. As to the whole Palin aftermath, I too call bullshit on McCain and all of his campaign. Picking her was sexist, period, and scapegoating her now is even more so.Have we read even one piece in the mainstream about how the underlying “logic” boiled down to a bunch of horny guys chortling over how hot it would be to have a MILF as VP? Did Hutchison, Dole Whitman stand next to the Pitbull during her whirlwind tour of ProAmerica? I don’t recall but I’m pretty sure the answer is “NO” but we sure did see plenty of men slobbering themselves over her, most notably her running mate. Now, I don’t feel once ounce of sorry for her, mind you. She was eagerly complicit in this and no matter how she may play that she’s above such pettiness now, we all know she’s an ugly little speck of what lies at the heart of almost half the people who still voted for the McCain/Palin Shit Talk Express.

  42. Thank you for putting this so well. As a feminist I am furious at the blatant sexism of it all. Disagree with her politics all day long, but enough of the sexist crap.

I agree that Palin has gotten this far by flirting with old men but it does look kinda b!tchlike for the McCain camp to throw her under the bus like that. Palin and her family were trash from the getgo and McCain chose to ignore that. Out of all the capable repubwitches out there, he had to choose the one who was the most attractive (note to Sarah, it’s easy to be the pretty girl when you’re surrounded by really ugly ones). I hear that McCain doesn’t get along with the other repub women in congress but this just proves what a flake McCain is. This is the same man that dumped his first wife after she became crippled in a car accident. McCain has never really had to work in his life and his knee jerk selection of Sarah Palin is proof that this guy has never done any deep thinking or work for that matter.

  44. Here is my take on this. This is about more than just Palin and who was responsible for McCain’s loss. This is about where the Republicans are thinking the party will go for 2012.Although he lost and he had issues with her, McCain couldn’t do a thing about it, like you all mentioned, because he chose her and they had an election to get through. But now that he is free of his “Frankenstein,” the Republican National Committee has to think about what to do with her. What signal do they want to put forth? They are making it clear, forget the fantasies of 2012, she has got to go!The clothes came from some high-level Republican donor who had no idea he would get a bill for $150,000. Someone should have told him what happens when trashy low life women get a hold of some rich guy’s loot. Just because she is white and pretty, she got over big time. Old white men always think sweet young things are as sweet as they appear. As for the sexism thing, I am not crying fowl. She might claim to be a feminist, but she knew what she was getting into, riding with the boys, and she was eager to get in and get down. You know the type, she would burn another woman just to get at the boys. She was willing to be their ho, and now that they got her stuff, saw it was crap, they dropped her a** to the curb. Good riddance!

Wow… lots of racist comments on here (yes, black Americans can be racist, too).Describing Sarah Palin as "white trash", "a hillbilly" & other choice phrases, only demonstrates your lack of class. We all know that if a white person even looks at a black person the wrong way, uses a non-buttkissing tone of voice, or fails to walk on the eggshells light enough, they are dubbed as an automatic "racist".Well, I'm calling bullshit*t. You can't expect people of other races to be civil & respectful, if you do not offer the same courtesy to them. Also, whites are not the only ones who have grown tired of the attitude some black people are dishing out.A few weeks ago, I was in McDonald's, and I was in line waiting for my order. The black man who was standing next to me leaned over toward me and made a racial slur about the mostly Hispanic McDonald's crew. As I recall, his issue was with their poor English skills. My Uncle in-law is Hispanic, so I did not take this comment kindly. I guess he thought I was one of those crazy whites who rant about border control, and he thought I would chime in and agree with him. On the contrary; I just looked at him as if he was crazy, paid for my order, and left.Anyhow, you all aren't perfect people. And I was unaware that only "white trash" shops at Wal-Mart; in my area, there are plenty of people of ALL races that goes there (including a great many blacks). You guys might want to do some research before you paint with such a broad brush.I am no fan of Palin, and I voted for Obama… but I think many of these comments are quite hateful & crude. There is no doubt in my mind that I too will be called "racist" for even posting this (after all, it's a mortal sin to call a black person on their bad behavior, unlike people of other races. constructive criticism = racism… IF the subject of said criticism is black), but I decided to go out on a limb and make this statement, anyhow. It's something that NEEDS to be said… it's something that African Americans NEED to be made aware of. People of other races will be unwilling to unite with you, if this *free black pass to bash* continues to rear it's ugly head. Racism cannot be eliminated if you continue to promote it. Make an example… BE an example; if you mimic every lame white bigot who has ever made a *truly* racist statement, then you're just promoting the vicious cycle. You are alienating potential allies; Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, and yes, whites too, are becoming more & more disenchanted by this double standard of behavior.Barack Obama is a beautiful person; don't sully the positive African American image he is creating, with this ugly behavior. I doubt he would approve.

  47. anonymous 12:57 a.m.: While some of the comments on this thread were more vitriolic than others, I’d say the vast stuck to either agreeing with my post (that Sarah is being scapegoated) or politely disagreed and felt she is getting what she deserves for playing the heavy in the campaign. As for the references to terms like “redneck” and “hillbilly,” I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a lot of people, black and white, have rudely referred to Palin in this manner. I’m not saying your perspective is misplaced, but unless you’re going on Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Salon, etc. lambasting the commenters on there for defaming hill people and all kinds of white folk, I have to say, it sounds like you’re expecting individual African Americans to censor themselves in a way others have not. While prejudice is a problem within all ethnic groups, including blacks, I think your argument here is a little off considering everyone is being a bit of a rude bastard to Sarah Palin. I would argue that everyone could stand to not fling terms like “hillbilly” around. But that goes for blacks, whites, conservatives and Liberals who have made bashing Palin a 24 hour enterprise. Also, you should avoid making absolute statements about people. It weakens your argument. You’d be better served arguing that it is hurtful to use terms like hillbilly and redneck, rather than relaying a tale of your one interaction with a bigoted man as if it applied to all of black people. I know I wasn’t raised that way and I know I’m not the only one. So try to be more specific in who you’re criticizing. I couldn’t tell if you were taking umbrage with me defending Palin or if you were annoyed by the comments. I then realized that you were simply appalled by the coarser statements some left. But as I said, most commenters stuck to the issues at hand and talking down to those commenters will not win them over to your cause.Just some advice.

  48. Sorry don’t feel bad for her one bit. Don’t people remember HRC’s Mark Penn being thrown under the bus after HRC lost the primary?I agree that she is not the only reason for the loss. McCain picked he and it’s his fault we had to hear about her in the first place.I’m hearing the main people spreading the rumors are ex Romney staffers.I’m glad we are hearing about her issues now. She wants to run in 2012 and hopefully this info will give people reason to think before voting for her again. If she had run a classy campaign maybe I would feel bad for her. I don’t. She laid with dogs and woke up with fleas. She wasn’t a team player (I can’t believe she thought she would be able to speak the night of the election…WTF!) and therefore why would she expect the team to defend her now.I don’t think the attacks are sexist. She reminds me of OJ. Looked out for self, sucks up to white men, then when the shit hits the fan wants the warm embrace of her “community”.Later for that.

  49. Anonymous @12:57, I could start by saying I’m not prejudiced, that white people are in my family and that some of my best friends have been white, but I won’t go there, although it’s true. And while I’ve seldom use the word “redneck,” I’ve said it a couple of times on this blog. As I implied before, though, there are Arab rednecks, Hispanic rednecks, and even some “blacknecks” out there too. Some of our brothers and sisters, unfortunately, have been stung by racism and have responded in kind, which doesn’t make it right. They have to come to terms with this disease in the way that whites do. I honestly don’t like part of your comment, which said blacks basically go ballastic whenever a white person looks at them the wrong way. In my lifetime, I’ve heard all kinds of off-color jokes (about Africa, monkeys, suntans, etc), gotten various mean looks (you know the kind), and endure overt discrimination in many forms without retaliating.
