The first one is unique. I like the newsprint, but it somehow ditracts the attention away from the cute little banner itself, but hey, it’s a tie!

I like the new streamlined one. It’s cleaner and makes your image pop more. BUT I like the title of the news article, "Woman Bites Blog" also. Maybe you could incorporate the article title sans the newsprint.

The banner with newsprint is a much more lively and interesting design. The print and headline "Woman bites blog" are just there enough, but not so much as to distract. The second banner, without the additional design elements, looks kind of ordinary and sterile. For me, it actually comes on too strong. It seems to put an unalloyed emphasis on the word "snob" and reduces the humor with which the blog itself always siultaneously supports and counter-attacks that word. I vote for Banner #1!

Without…it allows the eye to focus more on your name. When you read it you don’t feel like you need to re-read it as you may have missed something because of the background print. I hope that this is helpful to you. I rather enjoy your blog…Gros bisous…

Hello!The newsprint always kinda bugged me because it doesn’t seem to have any point. It just clutters up the design without really offering any meaning or substance. I like the cleanliness and focus of the new design.Love ya!

Truthfully, I am just now noticing the newsprint because I only read the main banner. Therefore, it doesn’t matter. If the newsprint means something to you, keep it. If not, lose it because it does not make a difference.

I don’t have a preference – either would be fine for me, but I think your face should be looking left to right i.e towards the lettering, OR if you keep it looking right to left then it should be placed on the right of the lettering.

My vote is for newsprint. I agree with numerous other posters that without the newsprint the banner looks a little sterile, and loses the emphasis on the snark in "Snob". The humor in woman bites blog helps soften the image. Just my humble opinion.
