Rumors, rumors, rumors abound that former presidential candidate John Edwards is ready to admit that the 18-month-old child of his mistress, Rielle Hunter, is … yeah … probably his kid n’ stuff.

Raleigh, N.C. — Sources have told WRAL News that they expect former U.S. Sen. John Edwards to admit that he is the father of his former mistress’ 18-month-old daughter.

Edwards, a two-time Democratic presidential candidate, confessed last August to having an affair with Rielle Hunter, who served as a videographer on Edwards’ 2008 campaign. He has denied fathering her daughter, saying his relationship with Hunter ended before the child was conceived.

The name of the girl’s father isn’t disclosed on her birth certificate.

Politicians! They’re just like guests on Maury Povich! Or Judge Fill-In-The-Blank! And this was a man who lobbied to be on Team Obama. Thank GOD the team saw that stink train pulling in the station before they hopped on board. Not everyone can pull a Bill Clinton and let the random ladies who aren’t your wife wash over you, but even Slick Willie managed to not produce any extra Willies (that we know of) while on his many extra-marital excursions. Re: Willie’s Advice — No one gets knocked up from blow jobs. Just sayin’.

    John Edwards isn’t running for office, so I think the media should just drop the story out of respect for Mrs. Edwards who is sick.

    I would agree with politicallyincorrect, but i just saw Mrs. Edwards on TV about 2 weeks ago promoting the book she just released the talks all about the affair. to the media it is fair game now.

    Polticallyincorrect :At this point the story has nothing to do with Mrs. Edwards so why not cover it? Besides, I like to see hypocrites and lairs get their just deserts.

    I would like to agree with ‘politically incorrect’ except Elizabeth Edwards felt the need to do a public catharsis about she-who-must-not-be-named and her husband’s affair. No one I know ever doubted that that baby wasn’t Edwards’. It was just a matter of time before somebody would throw back the curtain. Sounds like the "friend" who claimed the baby was his is going to write a tell-all and reveal that the baby is Edwards’. Damn, some friend. I guess John didn’t pay him enough. So here comes another press conference when the public bites it collective lower lip and shakes it’s head. Can’t they just go to counseling like the rest of us?
